It's the Middle Ages, and Merlin (Stanley Tucci) asks a Transformer to turn into a dragon and fight for them (as you do). Flash forward 1600 years and inventor Cade (Mark Wahlberg) is running around with the Autobots (as you do) when he finds himself in jolly old England with historian Sir Edmund (Anthony Hopkins) and academic Viviane (Laura Haddock) discovering the true history of the robots. Meanwhile, Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) is floating through space (as you do) looking for his creator when he finds the evil Quintessa on the ruined Cybertron.
The fifth instalment of the live-action Transformers franchise, The Light Knight follows on from the events of 2014's Age of Extinction. If you love special effects eye-candy, loud noises (it's worth experiencing one of the Dolby Atmos sessions) and lots of explosions you're going to love this film. It's a long film (though even at 149 minutes it's the second shortest in the series) and far too long to maintain our interest for the duration. Disappointing.
