A group of strangers (Craig Robinson, June Squibb, Lisa Kudrow, Stephen Merchant and Tony Revolori) are seated together at the least important table at a wedding. But it's particularly difficult for Eloise (Anna Kendrick) having recently split with her boyfriend Teddy (Wyatt Russell) who's the brother of the bride. I know, right; totes awkies. But each of the guests has their own motive for being there, and the wedding proves to be a make or break moment for all of them.
Table 19 is a light romantic comedy with some moments of genuine charm and delight. There are some significant gaps in the plot and there's not a whole lot of depth to the characters but it all comes together well. The performances are ok (Stephen Merchant's grin steals every frame it appears in) and although there's nothing that will stretch the actors too much there's still enough to warm the heart. Satisfying.
